motivated, enthusiastic, intoxicating

Andreas Haeckler

Andreas Haeckler (short name Andi) has been Instructor since 2002 (currently SSI DMI + PADI IDC Staff) and is the youngest one in our team. However, he already possesses a wealth of experience. Andi learned to dive during his military service on the island of Sardinia. It was there that he discovered his love for ship wrecks and underwater photography. After his time on Sardinia, it was crystal clear for Andi that he won’t spend his life in an office building.

On completion of the military service, he went diving all over the world and got his first practical experience as a professional at diving CRES in Croatia. There he started as a Dive Master and continued to become instructor that brought him to work at diving AKASSIA (previously called Water World Diving Center) in Egypt. Thanks to his distinctive technical knowledge and his enthusiasm for mixed gas he essentially contributed to the introduction of our NITROX membrane system at this diving centre and it was also him who has educated the complete staff team in this matter.

To this day he loves to pass on his fascination for diving, his knowledge and his experience down to the students. Despite many years in this industry diving remained his hobby and, hence in 2011, he enthusiastically went back to school to obtain the qualification of Trimix Circuit Rebreather Diver. However, there is not much time left for other activities. Luckily he can integrate his hobbyhorse – traveling and photography – into the diving.

You can meet Andi at our diving centre diving FLAMENCO or diving ABU DABAB at the South Red Sea.

Together with Nicole Kiefhaber and Mirko Obermann, he published his expert knowledge in the book “Modernes Tauchbasenmanagement” (“Innovative Management of Diving Centre”).
